UNITY - LOVE - RESPONSIBILITY - FOR VICTIMS OF AO POXICOLOGY

A good deed of the late General Nguyen Chi Thanh’s family towards the victims of Agent Orange

From January 22 to February 1, 2024, Sr. Lt. Gen. Nguyen Chi Vinh’s wife, Ms. Dang Thi Minh Ngoc representing the family of the late General Nguyen Chi Thanh, joined the working VAVA’s delegation to visit the three provinces of Thua Thien Hue, Thai Binh and Ha Nam to personally deliver meaningful gifts to the families of veterans and AO victims on the occasion of Tet holiday. Some victims were too weak to come to receive the gifts, so Ngoc went to their homes to deliver them directly, while sharing their difficulties, encouraging their will and determination.

150 gifts in total, each worth 1.2 million VND were delivered to the targeted receivers. They were truly meaningful and practical gifts, presented by the late General Nguyen Chi Thanh’s family to the war veterans and AO victims.

* In Thua Thien Hue province, the VAVA’s delegation led by Lt. Gen. Nguyen Huu Chinh and Ms. Dang Thi Minh Ngoc, went to Quang Dien district to present 50 Tet gifts to AO victims.

During the trip, the delegation visited General Nguyen Chi Thanh Memorial Site, offering incense, remembering the talented and virtuous general, and listening to many interesting and humane stories about him.

* In Thai Binh province, VAVA’s delegation led by Major General Do Hong Lam and the leaders of the Thai Binh Provincial branch Association presented Tet gifts to 50 war veterans and AO victims.

At the ceremony, Comrade Nguyen Tien Thanh, Standing Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People's Council, spoke highly of the contributions of General Nguyen Chi Thanh's family, and expressed his sympathy, sharing and best wishes to the families of AO victims. He emphasized that this was the heart of the General's family sent to the Vietnamese AO victims in general, and the people of Thai Binh province in particular, with the wish that the victims would celebrate a Tet with full love.

* In Ha Nam province, on February 1, VAVA’s delegation coordinated with the Ha Nam Provincial branch Association to present Tet gifts to 50 families of AO victims in the province. The meaningful and practical gifts that were the heart of General Nguyen Chi Thanh's family, given directly to the veterans and AO victims, helped encourage their spirit and shared with their families when Tet came.

There are still many AO victims nationwide, especially the 3rd and 4th generation young victims who have yet to be entitled to beneficial allowances. Many victims live in remote areas in extremely difficult circumstances. It is hoped that there will be more kind gestures joining hands to ease the pain of Agent Orange.

The affection and kindness of General Nguyen Chi Thanh's family has spread love to the less fortunate AO victims, encouraging and motivating them to overcome difficulties and gradually improve their lives
