Spreading humanitarian values through simple things
The meeting took place in a sincere and warm atmosphere, chaired by Mr. Lidwig Alpers, President of The Way to Happiness Foundation. Mr. Alpers gave an overview of the Foundation's activities and emphasized the role of fostering ethical values in social life.
Attending the meeting were Ms. Rubina Qureshi, President of ABLE; Mr. Keith Miller, CEO of FASE; and Mr. Bob Graves, Senior Advisor.
During the meeting, Mr. Lidwig Alpers shared that happiness stems from simple things like honesty, responsibility, mutual respect and mutual love. This is the foundation for creating lasting social cohesion.
On behalf of VAVA, Lieutenant General Chinh briefed the situation of Agent Orange victims in Vietnam, and shared many touching stories about people who have suffered for generations but remain resilient, strong-willed, and strive to overcome challenges in life.
The atmosphere of the meeting became more subdued as delegates reflected on the past war in a spirit of understanding and looking towards the future. The message “no one is left behind” was emphasized as a shared commitment, not only in supporting the victims but also in how people treat each other with compassion and responsibility.
Both sides also discussed future cooperations, focusing on spreading ethical values, raising community awareness, and strengthening support for vulnerable groups.
Following the meeting, Mr. Lidwig Alpers personally introduced the delegation to the Foundation's printing house where “The Way to Happiness” is published with its 21 principles of positive living. The publication is currently distributed in 183 countries and territories, contributing to promoting a humane and responsible lifestyle in the community.
Reflecting on preserved values
On the same day, the delegation visited the exhibition on the life of Mr. L. Ron Hubbard – which recreates reflections on humanity and society through a rich system of images and documents.
Through the visit, members of the delegation gained a deeper understanding of the role of moral education and personal responsibility in building a better society. Seemingly simple values in life are the foundation for positive and sustainable change.
Sowing trust, extending empathy
The working trip concluded in a warm and trusting atmosphere. Sincere handshakes and open sharing demonstrated the power of empathy and connection between people despite geographical and historical differences.
The companions of organizations like ABLE and FASE further affirm the role of international cooperation in humanitarian activities, contributing to spreading the voices of Vietnamese Agent Orange victims to the world.
From simple yet enduring values, the program has contributed to fostering faith and hope – for a more compassionate world where no one is left behind.
