On the morning of December 22nd, a delegation from the Embassy of the Kingdom of Thailand to Vietnam, along with a Thai community in Vietnam, led by Ambassador Urawadee Sriphiromya, visited the Central Committee of the Association and presented gifts to victims of Agent Orange.

Receiving and working with the delegation were Lieutenant General Nguyen Huu Chinh, Member of the Presidium of the Vietnam Fatherland Front, President of VAVA; Major General Do Hong Lam, Vice President of VAVA, and leaders of departments and units under the Central Committee of the Association.
President Chinh expressed his pleasure in receiving and working with the delegation; informed the delegation about the two missions of VAVA and the Association's notable activities in caring for and assisting victims of Agent Orange. He also expressed his sincere gratitude to the Embassy of the Kingdom of Thailand for its meaningful and practical activities over the years in caring for and assisting victims of Agent Orange/dioxin, such as holding a charity run for Agent Orange/dioxin victims and donating gifts to the victims at the Vietnam Agent Orange/dioxin Victims Social Welfare Center.
Ambassador Urawadee Sriphiromya expressed her joy at the warm welcome extended by VAVA to the delegation. She also shared her sympathy for the hardships that Agent Orange/dioxin victims in Vietnam have endured for generations. She also stated that this charitable activity has special humanitarian significance in commemorating the birthday of King Rama IX of Thailand. In the coming period, Thai Embassy and the Thai community in Vietnam will carry out more practical activities to care for and assist Vietnamese victims of Agent Orange, thereby strengthening solidarity between the two countries, leading up to the 50th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between the two countries (1976 – 2026).
